Y’all I’ve never been a fashion blogger, but I live in Paris now, and I’m a journalist, and I’m very observational… here’s a mix of what I’m seeing, what is currently “cool” here, and what I personally am really into (plus things I can really recommend). This is mostly my personal wish list, though…
Amethyst Sweater - Guys, I think purple is having a moment (source: “just trust me bro”). I’m on the hunt for the perfect cool toned purple, amethyst sweater. I’ve found two from Armed Angels and La Redoute… but my eyes are still peeled for one that takes my breath away. But these are really cute tbh.
Rouje Laly LBD - I wear this dress ALL. THE. TIME. It’s my favorite LBD. I fold it up into a mini dress for a saucier vibe but you can wear it ankle length when you’re feeling more demure. The sleeves can be worn off the shoulder and it makes a sweetheart neckline. It’s stretchy, comfortable, figure flattering, and effortlessly chic… so Parisian.
Statement Coat - Another just trust me, statement coats are everything (according to French women and all the gals I see on the streets in Paris). I love this because it’s not TOO specific of a trend, it leaves a lot up to personal preference, personal style, taste, etc. For me, I’m all about a bright fuchsia (obviously), but I’ve seen French women wearing jewel toned purple, bright orange, deep emerald green, a saturated vivid olive, ice blue, ivory… a classic, wool winter coat, but these three from Essentiel Antwerp, Max&Co, Des Petits Hauts are at the top of my list.
Vintage Fiorucci Tee - My vibe is angelcore, and if I were to pick a branding that felt the most “me” it would be this T-shirt and this brand. I need this tee. I NEED IT!!!!
Sézane Leather Miniskirt - Another recent addition to my wardrobe that’s been on a permanent repeat: this leather mini from one of my fav French brands, Sézane. Mini skirts are everything and more to me right now, so obviously you should copy me (kidding) (kind of)… this one in particular is extremely polished, super “cool girl,” and very well made for the price.
Reformation Cuissardes - honestly this is the top of my personal wish list overall… a brown crocodile thigh high, over the knee boot. I need this more than the “need” I just screamed about a second ago with the cherub tee. I actually NEEEED NEED (!!!!) an over-the-knee boot (called a cuissarde in french) and these brown croco ones are a literal fantasy to me.
Carel Alice, Silver - I own these personally and am obsessed. A matte silver leather shoe is suuuuch a vibe right now, and combined with the double strap mary jane look? YES. They’re INCREDIBLY comfortable, and such an elevated style.
Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 - the most comfortable addition to my sneaker collection… so much so that I actually would very much benefit (I’m legally not allowed to say “I need” again) from adding this practical shoe to my repertoire. If you want a chic, comfortable, under-the-radar walking sneaker and are over Adidas, raise your hand (*meeeee*). These are the perfect elevated alternative.
Rouje Carla Boots - shockingly… these are extremely comfortable. My only gripe is – like the Carel shoes – that you have to add soles to them. They’re not technically ready to wear (same goes for the Carel shoes, too! But I wore these for five days in Rome last winter, on my feet for 15k steps a day, on “cobblestones” that are more like violent lego blocks of chaotic masonry, and I was chillin.
Repetto Ballerines: Classic ballet flats have been back in style (in France, at least!) for a few years now, and I love the signature, classic, original Cendrillon style from Repetto. They’re so chic!
Reppetto Lisbeth: OMG, more shoes!? These are on my personal wish list as well… like are you kidding with that square toe and subtle rose metallic??? HOT!
Funny Shirt & Hat: The Are you fucking kidding me shirt and Wellbutrin hat from Polychrome Goods are my new obsessions. I’m honestly so inspired to make my own merch store… SHOULD I MAKE MERCH YOU GUYS???
Black & Silver Gucci Jackie Bag - I need a black handbag with silver hardware, so naturally I want a €3500 Gucci bag. It’s a classic though!!! Also it turns out it’s not silver, but rather a very faint champagne gold, which is like, fine.
Saint Sass Tights - I’ve become a tights wearer since moving to a cold climate, and these are just so much fun. Though I wish I could pull off “see you in hell,” I think we all know that would be absolutely ridiculous on me (but maybe great on you!).
White Gold Earrings - remember when Gretchen Weiners's parents got her those really expensive white gold hoops? I want. I’ve looked at Bottega Veneta (because I have dupes of these) and their twisted hoops (LOOOVE this style!!!) but they’re literally just silver, so… ugh. 400 euros for sterling silver hoops feels insane. Then of course, I saw Celine… but those are literally BRASS covered in some silver finish??? What are these luxury brands doing, wtf…??? But these Messika sliding diamonds are so cute and THOSE are actually white gold (but also three grand lol). If these Dior Oui earrings were WG I’d have already purchased them, and I love the Dior CD Studs, but what I REALLY want is a thick, twisted hoop (like the Bottega ones)… like this croissant twisty from Tabacco, or these from APM Monaco… I’ll probably end up with these from ROUJE.
