Dominique's Beauty Gift Guide 2024 💄🎁
2024's best of beauty, cosmetics, skincare, hair care, and being a venusian goddess
Hello, my Venusian goddess angels… ready to feel absolutely gorgeous? I’ve got my personal picks for best beauty gifts 2024… from luxury skincare gifts (Italian and French, naturally) to the Parisian iteration of a Mason Pearson and an exquisitely diamond-encrusted refillable luxury French lipstick (yes) and cool-toned self-tanner (ALSO YES???), We’ve got a lot to cover today.
I won’t break it into two separate sections (my recommendations versus my wishlist) but rather mark them one by one. Let’s get into it, babes!
Guerlain Lipstick: top of my beauty wish list is this stunning personalized, customizable, limited edition lipstick case (and luxe lipstick) from la maison de mes rêves, Guerlain. The case is a jewel-encrusted design of a lipstick; low key very meta and also exactly my style. The color I’ve been eyeing, since, as I’ve recently discovered, I’m a WINTER color season, is 870 LE PRUNE INTENSE - SATIN — a deep purply berry color.
Gel Nail Polish & Lamp - Le Manoir: I decided I want to start doing my nails… which means I need supplies. And though the import fees to Europe are INSANE with this brand (they’re Canadian, which is ruining my life), their color collection is out of effing control; best I’ve seen, and I’ve been heavily searching for a year. Fig and Rosewater are my top two that I need rn.
La Bonne Brosse: My Parisian Mason Pearson: the new French beauty staple, La Bonne Brosse. I got this for my birthday (thanks mom!) — my first hair brush??? — and it’s so lovely. I have the No.1 Universelle, and it’s 100% boar bristle, lightweight with a lovely handle design, and truly helps smooth and add shine to my hair. They’ve got a new Zodiac collection (also bejeweled!) that I’m absolutely obsessed with, and would 1000% get if I didn’t already have my sweet ballet pink one.
Sisley Black Rose Masque: on my wish list for years (for real) this luxury French skincare mask from iconic brand Sisley. Smoothing, firming, brightening, hydrating… it’s like a facial in a bottle. I want it soooo bad.
Color WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray: Apparently this is glass hair in a bottle (like my beloved Davines Oi Liquid Luster in-shower gloss). Anti-static, heat protecting, shine boosting, smoothing spray. I neeeeeed it????
Davines Oi Gift Set: Speaking of Davines Oi, this is an all time fav, best of the best, GOAT range from my favorite Italian haircare brand (I could wax poetic about how much I love them, and I often do). For under fifty bucks, this includes some of their all time most kickass products for shiny hair-model hair, including shampoo and conditioner, a leave in, and a nice little bonus with a hand balm.
Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation: every time I get excited about a viral foundation I have to remind myself, I already have the best of the best. This foundation from Chantecaille is the most gorgeous, weightless, nourishing, second skin, flawless complexion formula I’ve ever tried… it’s a pot of photoshop cream. I feel absolutely freaking radiant when I wear this.
Kérastase Elixir Ultime: everyone says this is the best hair serum on planet earth… and apparently somehow better than the Elseve oil (which is almost the same thing? but 6€ here)… which reminds me, I’ve also got my eye on the Elseve Glycolic Gloss. I’m not sure if it could be the Oi collection, but I’m curious nonetheless.
Amethyst eyeshadow: in line with my amethyst obsession, I really want some purple eyeshadow, and have looked at three palettes: the limited edition Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow in Divination, the Lancôme Hypnose palette, and the Cle de Peau quad.
Bondi Sands Technocolor Sapphire: this year I got the cool toned face serum and body foam self tanners from Bondi Sands… I finally feel like I can do a fake tan. And I did it all summer long and it was MAGICAL. I forgot what it’s like to be tan??? I felt radiant?? The fuck??? Now that I'm typing this I’m gonna get up and put some on my face because I’m currently giving “lives with seven dwarves” vibes. But yeah this was a total stab in the dark, but the color was flawless, super natural, buildable, doesn’t get on your clothes after you rinse (unless it’s 94ºF and you’re sitting on a leather chair on a terrace in a white linen mini dress and sweating so much your friends ask you if you need to go to a hospital because you’ve soaked through napkins with sweat alone) (this is a hypothetical I didn’t personally experience this). BEHOLD!

Comfort Zone Serums: my three favorite serums of all time come from Comfort Zone… the Luminant Serum (brightening), Hydramemory Serum (the best quenching hydrator ever), and the Sublime Skin Serum (filler and botox in a bottle). The Luminant Cream also slaps.
Dior Lip Glow Oil in Berry: one of the best things I bought this year, on a whim, at an airport, as an impulsive treat-yourself-it-was-your-birthday-a-couple-weeks-ago buy: a new hue of my favorite lip oil. This is the fourth I’ve purchased from Dior; I started with pink, rosewood, and eventually raspberry… raspberry was my favorite until I found BERRY, which I assumed would be too dark — it’s not. On my lips, it’s the perfect cool toned, luscious hot pink. Ever since I discovered I’m a WINTER color season, I started using cooler toned makeup and wearing cooler toned clothes… you guys, REVOLUTIONARY. I’ve been reborn. This lip gloss played a part in my personal revolution, and I will never forget it.
Nuxe Rêve de Miel Honey Body Wash: Many of my French pharmacy favorites are found in the Nuxe section, including my favorite refillable body wash I’m OBSESSED with (has lasted me almost a year and is refillable!) … the rêve de miel shower gel. I love all things Nuxe, I’ve become a bit of a brand loyalist, but this is probably my favorite product because it makes showertime feel so luxurious… and it’s such an affordable luxury.
La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 Spray: I’ve been in love with Cicaplast B5 Baume (another French pharmacy gift idea, and absolute essential), but I recently tried the spray and it’s an exceptional addition to my skincare lineup. It’s lightweight yet nourishing, super soothing when my skin is dry and tight, and can be spritzed on thru the day.
Paoma Paris Eau de Soin Essentielle: I discovered Paoma Paris this year — both their facial services, and their range of skincare. I was wildly impressed with one of their signature products, the Eau de Soin, a nourishing toner. I actually went through the whole bottle in less than two months. I didn’t know a toner could do so much?! But it’s nourishing, hydrating, brightening, and plumping… and it smells incredible.
Biologique Recherche P50: Last thing on my wish list, and another one that’s a return from previous seasons (I still haven’t gotten it, lol)… the iconic P50 toner from Biologique Recherche. Every time I go to buy it I end up booking a facial there instead, lol.
